To the weather, that is.
We had beautiful weather all day yesterday. I mean, picture-perfect: low humidity, cool breezes, and sunshine. Utopian, I tell you. This morning we're having the exact same weather.
But last night at 5:00, the skies opened up. But it was not just rain; oh no, the halloween deities decided to play the cruelest trick ever. Thunder, lightning, and a torrential downpour pelted us until nearly 9:00 p.m. By then, of course, it was much too late to take the kids trick-or-treating.
So K did not get to be Harry Potter (and he would have been the BEST one, seriously). R did not get to be a Jedi. And P - poor miss P - did not get to be a rock star. Y'all, she had leather boots and everything. Her little heart was just broken.
But all is not lost! Next week is P's birthday, and we've decided she can have a rock star party. Her friends will all dress up as rock stars, and they'll make rock videos all afternoon. (P doesn't know it yet, but she's getting a Barbie Karaoke Cam for her birthday. Her cousin has one, and the girls spend hours upon hours rocking out.)
So now I'm off to do some shopping. My list looks like this:
Barbie Karaoke Cam
Toilet Paper
So, which store sells both? I'm all about minimizing my errands, you know. Although if I can't, I won't run out of energy - I've got six tons of chocolate in my living room. We weren't the only ones who didn't trick-or-treat last night.
